- Rotorua. One special feature of the Whirinaki walk is an invitation to a unique
New Zealand cultural experience.
- The trek starts with an awesome helicopter ride to a special campsite deep in the heart
of the forest. Experienced Maori guides will introduce you to a range of interesting
natural discoveries and activities in the surrounding wilderness.
- After an overnight stay, your group, (never more than 18) will set out on a five hour
forest trek, culminating in a traditional Maori welcoming ceremony. Then join in a feast
of hot food prepared Polynesian-style in steaming earth pits full of red hot stones.
- Cost includes pick-up from and return to your Rotorua lodgings.
