DAY 1
Ex Auckland
(4 hours driving)
Head South from Auckland over the Bombay Hills to Waitomo. Take time to tour the famous Gloworm Caves, and then East to Rotorua.

 DAY 2
Rotorua
(No driving)

After an overnight in Rotorua, spend the day visiting Whakarewarewa Maori Arts and Crafts Centre and touring the thermal reserve. Afterwards, take a Gondola ride to the Skyline and try the luge or flying foxes for a bit of excitement. In the evening, the Tamaki Tours Mauri Concert and Feast is a must.

 

  
  
  

DAY 3
Mountains to Beach
(4 hours drive)

From Rotorua, go to Tauranga and over to Mt Mauganui for lunch and a swim. The Mount is one of New Zealand's favourite holiday spots. The view from the top of the mountain is spectacular, but you may be happy to just walk around it. From there, North to Whangamata and Pauanui. If the tide allows, go and dig yourself a nice warm spa on Hot Water Beach to ease your weary, happy bones.
DAY 4
Whitianga
(4 hours drive)
Head North to Whitianga and enjoy a walk to Cathedral Cove. There are many walks of natural and historic interest. Horse trekking, sailing and the picturesque Driving Creek Railway. Visit Coromandel town and then on to Thames and back to Auckland
